Dylan Jones, the first zombie to be infected during the outbreak that is sweeping through the campus of Utah State
University, organized an attack on humans on Wednesday morning outside the
Geology building.
Jones charged the first human who came out of the building at
10:45 a.m., chasing him across the quad in an unsuccessful attempt to infect
him with the plague.
Jones was chagrined by the failed killing.
The undead gathered Wednesday to mount an attack. |
“I have a
reputation,” he said. “Being bested by any human is embarrassing. Even more so
when other zombies are watching.”
Apparently emboldened by the botched attack involving Utah
State’s most infamous zombie, other humans made similar breakaways — but
without the same success.
Zombie sightings are becoming increasingly common at Utah State. |
“I thought I could make it inside before being infected,”
said human-turned-zombie Brandon Harris. “I feel different now, I feel angry.”
Weston Taylor, a harbinger of law and order from the League
of Supernatural Nations, noted following the attack that zombies will starve to
death if they do not eat human flesh every 48 hours.
The zombies who attacked on Wednesday were desperate for a
feeding, said Taylor, who acknowledged having led the zombies to that location
for a feeding.
“As a mediator it is my duty to help, I told the zombies
about the humans at the Geology building,” Taylor said.
The new undeaths brought the number of zombies in northern
Utah to 66.
